Indomethacin gout treatment has been shown to work exceptionally well with rapid results for many gout patients. Non-steroidal anti-inflammation drugs (NSAIDs) are the first choice of most gout sufferers for immediate relief from their gout pain and inflammation.

Indomethacin Gout ReliefIndomethacin, also known by the brand names Indocin and Indometacin, has been used for rapid relief of gout symptoms for more than forty years. This fact demonstrates its effectiveness in treating the pain and swelling that is associated with acute gout symptoms.

Most gout patients who do not suffer from other medical problems choose Indomethacin as their first defense when they need quick gout relief.

Indomethacin gout treatments have been known to stop the painful effects associated with gout attacks within two seven days. Many patients experience pain relief in as little as two to four hours after their first dosage. Indomethacin, for many patients, acts more quickly than other medications for the treatment of gout.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a single gout medicine that works well for every gout sufferer. Indomethacin has been known to cause stomach problems in some patients but for many, it is the preferred remedy for quick gout relief. Gout is a complicated disease that is often unpredictable and difficult for medical science to understand completely.

Please follow dosage instructions carefully with any medication and consult with your doctor if you have questions.

Quick Gout Relief With NSAIDs

NSAIDs remedy gout pain by blocking the C-1 and C-2 enzymes which are necessary for prostaglandin production. One particular prostaglandin is responsible for the enlargement of blood vessels resulting gout pain and inflammation.

Generally, NSAIDs may be a part of a long term gout treatment program but they are not responsible for any reduction of uric acid levels and do not dissolve nor help to dissipate gout crystal buildup in the joints.

Once the patients pain and swelling is remedied with Indomethacin gout or other gout treatments there is the question as to what to do next. How can they eliminate gout altogether? Uric acid reduction is often successful and many patients take uric acid lowering drugs as an extended gout treatment program.

Lowering Uric Acid levels

Febuxostat, also known as the brand name Uloric, is a FDA approved uric acid lowering treatment for those patients with excessive uric acid levels. Research has demonstrated that dropping uric acid levels help patients to manage their gout symptoms more effectively.

There is a relationship between uric acid levels and gout, but it should be noted that not every individual with high uric acid levels will develop gouty arthritis. Uloric is intended to be taken by gout patients who have excessive levels of uric acids.

In addition to the gout treatments mentioned, we also recommend adopting an overall health improvement program if you want to eliminate gout symptoms for the long term. Implement a healthy, low purine diet and consume plenty of water to help flush toxins from your body.

I’m in the middle of my second gout attack in two weeks! This time it’s my knee joint. Horrible debilitating pain! I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow to get on a more aggressive treatment plan. I’m thinking of a balance between drugs and a holistic method. I hope he agrees.

The bottom line is I’m trying to keep many balls in the air while functioning at about 50% due to this ridiculous pain. I just can’t get much work done until I get through this attack!
